We believe being part of the community means being an active part in making the community a better place. So Sparrow Eaton Hospital offers many community programs and activities to promote the health and well-being of our neighbors. This takes shape in everything from our support groups to babysitting classes.
In addition, the 2010 Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act now requires non-profit hospitals to participate in a “community health needs assessment” by partnering with public health organizations and the community.
In December 2010, the Healthy! Capital Counties project began as a collaboration between the four local hospital systems (Eaton Rapids Medical Center, Sparrow Eaton Hospital, McLaren Greater Lansing and Sparrow Health System) and the three local health departments (Barry-Eaton District Health Department, Ingham County Health Department and Mid-Michigan District Health Department) serving Ingham, Eaton and Clinton counties.
